باقي ساعات على الوقت الذهبي من السنة وبدء حفل توزيع حوائز غولدن غلوب 2024 حيث تم الإعلان عن الترشيحات في 11 ديسمبر، وقدم سيدريك ذا إنترتينر وويلمر فالديراما المرشحين عبر 27 فئة. ما يعني 15 مجموعة للفيلم و12 مجموعة للتلفزيون.
في الواقع، سيرى المعجبون فئتين جديدتين هذه المرة: الإنجاز السينمائي وشباك التذاكر في الصور المتحركة والأداء في الكوميديا الاحتياطية على التلفزيون.

يأتي هذا الإعلان بعد فترة تتصدر فيها هوليوود عناوين الأخبار، حيث تأتي الترشيحات بعد أكثر من شهر بقليل من انتهاء إضراب نقابة ممثلي الشاشة - الاتحاد الأمريكي لفناني التلفزيون والراديو (SAG-AFTRA) وبعد أقل من ثلاثة أشهر من الإضراب لـ نقابة الكتاب الأمريكية (WGA)..
أما بالنسبة لموعد الكشف عن الفائزين، فيمكن للجماهير مشاهدة حفل توزيع جوائز Golden Globe السنوي الحادي والثمانين مباشرة على شبكة CBS وParamount+ في 7 يناير بدءًا من الساعة 5 مساءً. بتوقيت المحيط الهادئ/8 مساءً إت.
بالعودة إلى الترشيحات، يتصدر فيلم "باربي" قائمة الأفلام التي حصلت على 9 ترشيحات، يليه "أوبنهايمر" بـ8 ترشيحات.
أما "قتلة زهرة القمر" (Killers of the Flower Moon) و"أشياء بائسة" (Poor Things) فحصلوا على 7 ترشيحات.
وفي التلفزيون، سجل الموسم الأخير من مسلسل "خلافة" (Succession) 9 ترشيحات يليه "جرائم القتل فقط في المبنى" (Only Murders in the Building)، و"الدب" (The Bear) وكلاهما بـ5 ترشيحات.
